Scholarship opportunities are available for summer Orff levels at Appalachian State – Level III meeting July 1-12 and Level I meeting July 22 – August 1, 2019. The deadline to apply for partial scholarships to assist with the expense of attending is May 6, 2019. 40th Anniversary Celebration & Chapter Share This Saturday

Our Atlanta Area Orff Chapter is turning 40 this year! Come celebrate with us as former chapter presidents and other chapter members share some of their favorite activities and ideas on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 9am-1pm.

All attendees will receive a free Past Presidents’ Lesson Booklet and we are serving cake to celebrate!

Chapter members can bring a friend for free 🙂

Grant Information

The Atlanta Area Orff Chapter is excited to announce that we will award: five grants for Professional Development in the amount of $300 and three grants for classroom instruments in the amount of $750.

All entrants must be members of both the Atlanta Area Orff Chapter and National AOSA for a minimum of 1 year prior to the date of the application.

Special Guest, Dr. Schaumberger

The Atlanta Area Chapter of AOSA is pleased to welcome a special guest clinician, Dr. Helmut Schamuberger.  Dr. Schaumberger is a professor of music education and Coordinator of the School of Music and Arts Education at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. In addition to the topic below, Dr. Schaumberger will give a talk on the Orff institute, which is a part of the Mozarteum.

Workshop with Brent Holl This Saturday

Come join us on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 9am-1pm at Chattahoochee ES for “Jump, Jive, and Jazz (K-8)” with Brent Holl. We’ll start this session with some play party games and discover how these activities lead straight to Jazz. An original blues song is next and we’ll learn an arrangement that can be played on the Orff instruments. A great finish will be a big band arrangement for Orff instruments. Warning! Dancing and happiness may ensue!! Focus: Orff process; improvisation; orchestration; speech and movement. See you there!

Workshop with BethAnn Hepburn this Saturday

Please join us at our next workshop on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 from 9am-1pm at Chattahoochee ES. BethAnn Hepburn will be presenting “Playful Process.“ Re-discover your elemental spirit through multiple creative inspiration points! Speak, Sing, Move, and Play your way through lessons inspired from many creative springboards! We will explore a day of lessons with clear music concepts at their core, that spring from many inspiration points. Come join the fun!
